STEVEN 'STEALBERG' IS IN THE HOUSE
Back when Serenity was hitting the cinemas, the Internet was awash (or aZoe or aMal) with fan-made videos, showing footage of Firefly and edited in a specific way. There were some good ones, some great ones and some absolutely amazing ones - and we reckon that we've got most of them safely saved.
It's lucky we were so keen about archiving things, because during the era when certain organisations didn't appreciate the Browncoat Effect like they do now, most of these efforts were lost to YouTube recycle/deleted bins.
It's lucky we were so keen about archiving things, because during the era when certain organisations didn't appreciate the Browncoat Effect like they do now, most of these efforts were lost to YouTube recycle/deleted bins.
But you can't stop the signal as someone once said - so hey, we're bringing 'em back again. We've got a fair few stashed away, along with original TV spots, trailers and other videos long since deleted that we're keen to unleash. Most of the videos were used by Firefly Store during conventions and events with the permission of the creators, but there are also some that we simply saved away before they got taken down or lost. So if you see one you created and want it removed, just let us know and we'll take it down straight away.
Because we can't upload directly for now, we've added them as unlisted videos on YouTube. The resolution might be grainy, but the content is still awesome. And, we still want to share 'em.
We'll be uploading a couple of different examples each month or so from our archives so everyone can appreciate the efforts once more in a safer haven away from the mainstream portal of YouTube. We'll also share some of the TV spot stuff from the original run of Firefly back in the day for anyone who's not seen it before. If you've got any queries, complaints or even any new efforts to share - please use the form below.
Remember to check the site again soon to see what else is uploaded, but for now we hope you enjoy these slices of history.

The Verse (credit: Loot Crate/QMx)
Hopefully most Browncoats have already seen this fan movie online since it debuted in the Autumn/Fall of 2014, courtesy of support from Loot Crate and QMx. But if not - here is another chance to watch nearly 15 minutes of fan-created Firefly themed awesomeness. We've seen lots of fan films and homages, all of which are full of love and passion for the show, but clearly not in the same league as the original source. This however is on a whole new level. The whole team front and back of camera have poured everything into this, with so many neat touches and professional polish attached.
Anyhow, enough waffle. Go check it out, enjoy some Firefly flavoured scenes and join us in hoping we get more of the same soon. We love it here at Firefly Store HQ and congrats to all involved. If you want to say howdy to any of them, cast and crew are added to our Firefly Alumni list on Twitter. Shiny.

Simon Tam MD (credit: io9 via Garrison Dean/Charlie Jane Anders)
Now this video is a particular fave of ours from everything we have in the vaults here at Firefly Store Towers. Originally created to make up for not including Simon in a previous crew-based video (if memory serves), this nevertheless stands up as a fab spin-off show suggestion. Who wouldn't want to see a bit of Simon Tam and his co-stars every week? Netflix had better be listening...

Jaynestown original TV episode trailer (credit: 20th Century Fox Television Studios 2002)
Continuing our #HistoricalVerse approach, we wanted to unleash another original TV spot out into the wild, for fans to experience again or perhaps for the first time. As with all the other spots, there's a certain off-beat theme to the voiceover and trailer approach, but hey it's still Firefly and you've still gotta love it, right?!
And although it's grainy and a little odd, at least it's evidence that at least some of the team at FOX attempted a bit of promotion whilst it was on the air.
